Go to the adjust settings menu from the main menu. Then choose the "Miscellaneous" option, and highlight the "Credit Limit" selection. Now hold Square + Circle + Triangle + X. If you entered the code correctly, the phrase "Free Play" will appear. If the game settings are saved, free play mode will also be included.

Sixteen credits

Set the credits to nine and start the game using controller two. Then when player two's ship launches, immediately press Start on controller one. Allow player two's ship to be lost. Now player one will have sixteen credits.

Mission select

Go to the difficulty menu from the settings menu. Then, hold R1 + R2 + L1 + L2 + Start.

Extra options

While playing a game, hold R1 + R2 + L1 + L2 to display a hidden options menu. Now the screen resolution, position, and other options may be adjusted.

Infinite continues (Japanese version)

During the game over countdown, press Select.

Power-ups

Look for the slightly off color trees that are not initially destroyed by your ship's fire power. They are usually located on the right side of the screen. Approach these trees and shoot at them until they explode. Capture the pixie that flies out of the explosion. Now when your ship is destroyed, a group of power-ups will be released.

Control demo ship

During the Raiden I demonstration, hold L1 to control the ship. During the Raiden II demonstration, hold R2 to control the ship.
